“While interviewed at Pik Uk Correctional Institution on 30.11.2004, Defendant largely presented a rather light, superficial and bargaining attitude in mentioning his involvement in the present offence. He also had limited reflection about the underling reasons and formulation of a rehabilitation plan. Instead of reflecting his misdeed sincerely and deeply, Defendant spent most of the time to urge and bargain with the investigating probation officer for a non-custodial sentence. Towards his involvement in the present offence, Defendant expressed verbal remorse and attributed his fault to his impulsiveness without considering the legal consequence at the material time. But while guiding Defendant to explore the underling causes leading to the present offence, such as nature of peer association and loose life pattern after the expiry of probation order, Defendant became impatient and even blamed the investigating probation officer not to give him a chance for open supervision.”
