1. This appeal stems from two actions in the District Court, DCCJ 1386/2005 and DCCJ 2571/2005. The plaintiff in DCCJ 1386/2005 was Choi Chuen Yau (“Mr Choi”) trading as Cutting de Heart and Cutting de Heart No. 2 (“Cutting”). The plaintiff in DCCJ 2571/2005 was Rich Group Holding Limited (“Rich Ltd”). The defendant in both actions was The Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd., the Chinese name of which is 英國保誠保險有限公司.
