DECISION ON COSTS

1.By a decision dated 20August 2013, I dismissed with costs the appeal of the defendant against the dismissal of two of his summonses by Master M Wong. I ordered that the costs of the appeal be assessed summarily on papers.

2.Pursuant to the directions of the court, a statement of costs was filed and served on the defendant on 22August 2013.  However, contrary to such directions, no grounds in opposition has been filed by the defendant.

3.The statement of costs has been scrutinized.  The claims set out therein are reasonable.  Accordingly, the costs of the appeal are assessed at HK$15,560.00.
