This was the hearing of applications by the trustees in bankruptcy in ten bankruptcies seeking, in each case, orders pursuant to section 30A of the Bankruptcy Ordinance (Cap. 6) (“the Ordinance”) that would have the effect of extending the length of the bankruptcies beyond the period after which the bankrupts would ordinarily be entitled to be automatically discharged from bankruptcy.
