1. In these appeals, constitutional challenges, among others, have been made to the operation and nature of the former Insider Dealing Tribunal (“the IDT”). With the exception of a dwindling number of cases still being handled by that Tribunal, the functions of the IDT have now been taken over by the Market Misconduct Tribunal set up under Part VIII of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, Cap. 571.
