On 16 September 2026, the Court of Appeal (Yeung JA) handed down reasons in HKSAR v Tsang Tsz Wai (CACC 82/2025), refusing the applicant's application for leave to appeal against his conviction for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Ms Lo Tin-wai, Assistant DPP, appeared for the respondent.
On 16 September 2026, the Court of Appeal (Pang, Chan and Tam JJ) handed down judgment in HKSAR v Zheng Dasong, CACC 220/2023, refusing the applicant's application for leave to appeal against his conviction for conspiracy to deal with property known or believed to represent proceeds of an indictable offence. The Respondent (HKSAR) was represented by Mr Wong Hei-yu, instructed by the Department of Justice.
On 21 July 2026, Linda Chan J in the Court of First Instance handed down judgment in HCMP 108/2026, Re China Changbaishan International Holdings Ltd [2026] HKCFI 5285, sanctioning the scheme of arrangement between the Bermuda-incorporated, SEHK-listed company (stock code 989) and its 27 Scheme Creditors with total claims of HK$711.37 million. Mr Michael Lok (with Ms Jasmine Cheung and Mr Matthew Suen) of CLKW Lawyers LLP acted for the Company.
On 16 September 2026, Madam Justice Cheng handed down judgment in Lau Lai Shan Lisa v Zhang Qi & Others, HCA 1395/2018 (consolidated with HCA 1992/2019), finding that Lisa had been fraudulently induced to transfer her sole share in Kidbrooke Group Limited to her sister-in-law Zhang Qi, who then sold it for $140m. Mr Toby Brown (with Ms Nicola Ho), instructed by Chui & Lau, acted for the successful Plaintiff.
On 14 September 2026, the Court of Appeal (Zervos JA) handed down judgment in HKSAR v Kong Shing-chi (江成智), CACC 283/2025, [2026] HKCA 1672, refusing the applicant's application for leave to appeal against his sentence for conspiracy to traffic in a dangerous drug. Ms Clara Ma, SPP, appeared for the respondent; the applicant appeared in person.
On 14 September 2026, Deputy High Court Judge Gary CC Lam handed down judgment in HCCT 105/2026, granting the Plaintiff an anti-suit injunction restraining the Defendants from pursuing a new PRC action in Xiamen and ordering them to discontinue those proceedings. On 15 September 2026, Deputy High Court Judge Cooper, KC handed down judgment in Re Success Lane Developments Ltd (HCCW 3/2025), dismissing a series of applications by the Company's former directors in the course of its winding-up and granting a Restricted Application Order against one of them. On 14 September 2026, the Court of Appeal (Au and Anthony Chan JJA) handed down judgment in Ku Camey v Ku Scarlet (executrix of the estate of Chen Elsie, deceased) CACV 561/2024, dismissing the plaintiff's summons for leave to file a respondent's notice out of time, but granting leave to adduce two post-judgment letters as fresh evidence on appeal. On 27 August 2026, the Family Court handed down judgment in LSP v CHT [2026] HKFC 153, allowing the husband's appeal in part against Master Lung's decision dismissing both parties' applications for interim maintenance for their four-year-old daughter D. The husband (H), the petitioner, acted in person; the wife (W), the respondent, also appeared in person.
On 14 September 2026, the Court of Appeal (Chow and Anthony Chan JJA and Ng J) handed down judgment in Yung Man Tung v Ashurst Hong Kong (CACV 162/2025), dismissing the applicant's appeal against Deputy High Court Judge Kent Yee's order refusing to set aside a statutory demand and authorising a bankruptcy petition.
