Short write-ups of recent Hong Kong judgments.
On 21 September 2026, Deputy District Judge Wu Man Sang handed down judgment in DCEC 494/2024, Zhang Rong v Tam San Fung & Ors, finding the first respondent Tam San Fung liable under the Employees Compensation Ordinance (Cap. 282) for a workplace fall on 19 July 2022. Mr Cheng Chung Ping, instructed by Li & Tang Solicitors, acted for the successful applicant.
On 9 September 2026, Deputy High Court Judge Gary CC Lam handed down judgment in N.P. King (Hong Kong) Ltd and Another v. Lam Wing Lam and Another [2026] HKCFI 5167, awarding the Plaintiffs HK$232,180.10 in damages against the 1st Defendant for breach of his duty of fidelity and restrictive covenants, while dismissing the claim against the 2nd Defendant and the Defendants' counterclaim. On 4 August 2026, the Court of Appeal handed down judgment in Chan Yuk Ping v Ngan Cho Lin & Huang Jian (trading as Forest Hill Company) and Forest Hill Industries Ltd, CACV 33/2024, dismissing the Respondents' appeal against the District Court's award of employees' compensation to the Applicant.
