Following a 19-day trial before then deputy magistrate Mr Lee Siu Ho in the Kowloon City Magistracy, the appellant in HCMA 685/2013 (hereinafter described as “the defendant”) was convicted on 30 September 2013 of one charge of indecent assault in that, on 29 August 2012, inside House 2 of Golden Gate Cinema at Harbour City in Canton Road, Kowloon (“House 2”), he indecently assaulted a Ms Lo (hereinafter described as “PW1”).
