On 18 September 2026, the Court of Appeal handed down judgment in HKSAR v Siu Hon Fai (CACC 218/2024), allowing the appellant's appeal against sentence to the extent of reducing his total sentence from 19 years and 4 months to 17 years and 4 months' imprisonment. Ms Catherine Fung, instructed by K W Wong & Co on a pro bono basis, acted for the successful appellant.
On 14 September 2026, the Court of Appeal (Zervos JA) handed down judgment in HKSAR v Kong Shing-chi (江成智), CACC 283/2025, [2026] HKCA 1672, refusing the applicant's application for leave to appeal against his sentence for conspiracy to traffic in a dangerous drug. Ms Clara Ma, SPP, appeared for the respondent; the applicant appeared in person.
On 4 September 2026, the Court of Appeal (Macrae VP and Zervos JA) handed down judgment in HKSAR v Barros Correia Daniel Carlos (CACV 271/2025), allowing the appellant's appeal against sentence and reducing his term from 14 years to 12 years and 4 months' imprisonment. Mr David Boyton and Ms Gretel Wong, instructed by Lee Law Firm, acted for the successful appellant.
On 28 August 2026, Zervos JA handed down judgment in HKSAR v Chan Ching Wa (CACC 247/2025), granting the applicant leave to appeal out of time against an 18-year sentence for cocaine trafficking and conspiracy to manufacture, together with an appeal aid certificate so he can be legally represented at the substantive hearing. Mr Ng Wing Kit, SPP, appeared for the respondent. The applicant appeared in person, legal aid having been refused on 6 August 2025 and again on 12 August 2026.
On 11 August 2026, the Court of Appeal (Macrae VP and Zervos JA) allowed the appellant's appeal against sentence in HKSAR v Schoeman Mary Wilson, reducing her term from 16 years and 5 months to 14 years and 6 months. Mr Matthew Hui, PP, appeared for the respondent; the appellant appeared in person.
On 13 August 2026, the Court of Appeal (Macrae VP and Zervos JA) allowed the appellant's appeal against sentence in HKSAR v Nkausu Roosevelt (CACC 406/2025), substituting 12 years and 6 months' imprisonment for the 15-year term imposed by Wong J in May 2021. The appellant appeared in person; Ms Claudia Ko SPP acted for the respondent.
