By writ of summons issued on 19 September 2013, the plaintiff brought a claim against the defendant for damages for personal injury sustained by her arising out of a marine accident involving First Ferry IX that occurred on 21 October 2011, at about 5:15 a.m., near Cheung Chau Pier. The plaintiff averred that the ferry was owned by the defendant and that the accident was caused by the negligence and/or breach of statutory duty and/or breach of common duty of care on the part of the defendant,
