1. The parties to this case cohabited for about thirty years prior to their separation, although it was late in the piece that they married. There are no children of the union. In the course of their life together and by their joint efforts they acquired substantial assets. In 1999 they parted and in January 2002 the wife secured a decree nisi of divorce, made absolute in March that year.
