Criminal appeal – drug trafficking – cocaine – corrigendum – typographical and descriptive errors – amendment of judgment. The applicant HUANG Ruifang (黃瑞芳) appealed to the Court of Appeal in CACC 106/2022 from her conviction/sentence in HCCC No 10 of 2022. The Court of Appeal (Macrae Acting CJHC, Zervos and M Poon JJA) heard the appeal on 20 November 2024 and delivered judgment on 5 March 2025. A corrigendum was subsequently issued on 14 April 2025 by Henry Cheung for the Registrar, High Court, to amend the judgment in three places. First, on page 1 at paragraph 1 line R and on page 35 at paragraph 69 line O, the reference to "4,470 grammes of cocaine" was corrected to read "4,770 grammes of cocaine". Second, on page 2 at paragraph 3 lines I-J, the description of the trial judge was corrected from "Deputy Judge Martin Hui, SC" to "Recorder Martin Hui, SC". No substantive alteration of the Court's reasoning or orders was made; the corrigendum addressed only typographical and descriptive inaccuracies in the judgment as printed.
Outcome: Corrigendum issued amending the judgment in three places: the quantity of cocaine was corrected from 4,470 grammes to 4,770 grammes (paragraph 1 line R and paragraph 69 line O), and the trial judge's title was corrected from 'Deputy Judge Martin Hui, SC' to 'Recorder Martin Hui, SC' (paragraph 3 lines I-J).
